Life in Cowboy Country: A Redskin Fan in Texas
As a resident of Austin Texas, you can imagine how Mr. Fun Bunch felt this week. Although Dallas is 200 miles away from Austin, The Cowboys are THE team here. On the East Coast, There are 5 teams within 200 miles of DC. You rarely catch a native Washingtonian rooting for the Eagles or NY Giants. Down here though, The Cowboys are the only game in town. It sucks. Trust me. Here's why:
A-holes at the grocery store walking around in tattered Roy Williams jerseys
Trashy, miniskirt-and-boot-wearing Austinites gushing about how they want Tony Romo to be their "Baby Daddy"
Getting crap thrown at you for wearing a kick-ass John Riggins jersey
Also annoying are Texas Longhorns fans, but far less so. According to my friend Ambrose, UT Football is not in contention because "They recruit too good. They're so good at recruiting that their teams suck because their players leave for the NFL." Um, yeah right dude. And another thing, Vince Young has a very short NFL career to look forward to. He can't keep running like he does and survive in the NFL. The defenses are too big and fast. This ain't UT vs. Baylor....

What the deuce? I'm a Redskin fan in... Austin, Texas as well.
There's hope for this state yet.
