Leonard Shapiro of The Washington Post is an Idiot

  In this article, a fat, ugly fuckhead named Leonard Shapiro proceeds to make a complete and utter fool of himself. He says that he was not surprised that Sean Taylor was murdered inside his own home. WHAT? Is that something that happens every day? Basically, he goes on to say that because Sean Taylor skipped out on some stupid NFL rookie symposium, he was murdered in his own home. I don't understand that logic. Sean Taylor has been a model citizen of late, and has not ever been convicted of a major crime. For that, he deserves to get murdered? Leonard Shapiro is an idiot. I am so pissed off right now.

American Idol Takes Over the NFL: Clay Aiken is Dreamy

Props to my boy Jamie and the team at FanHouse for bringing this disturbing story to The Fun Bunch. Mr. Macho himself, Ryan Seacrest will be hosting the Super Bowl Pre-game and Halftime Show. Nothing gets The Fun Bunch fired up more than Ryan Seacrest introducing the hunky Clay Aiken to perform. Michael Vick Negotiating Plea Deal in Dog Fighting Case

As predicted here on The Fun Bunch Redskins Blog, Michael Vick is negotiating a plea deal with federal prosecutors in his dog fighting case. All the other defendants already took pleas and presumably agreed to work with prosecutors in convicting Michael Vick. If and when Michael Vick pleads guilty, he is expected to be sentenced to some time in prison, according to federal sentencing guidelines.

"This doesn't sound like good news for Michael Vick," said Kent Alexander, once the U.S. attorney in Atlanta and now Emory University's general counsel. "Usually, if people plead guilty early in a case they may be cooperating with the government. That's what it sounds like here."

Ouch. Michael Vick is officially done as a football player. A very sad story for such a talented guy. He will be going to prison on federal charges. That is not good. Roger Goodell suspended Pacman Jones for makin' it rain. What do you think he'll do to Michael Vick for being convicted of a federal crime and going to prison. No team will touch him. He is done. Sayonara Michael Vick.

Dr. Z From Sports Illustrated is an Idiot

Not only does the guy pictured at the left LOOK like a complete douchebag, he IS a complete douchebag. His name is Paul "Dr. Z" Zimmerman. He is a writer for Sports Illustrated. He exemplifies hideous looks and stupidity. This guy has been actively keeping Art Monk out of the Hall of Fame for years, while that coke-head, convicted felon, Michael Irvin got in this year. In Dr. Z's words "catching 800 8-yard hooks just doesn't do it for me." Hey, dickwad, that's not all Art Monk has done. Didn't Art Monk play on some Super Bowl teams? Didn't he succeed without a Hall of Fame quarterback for years and years? Didn't he NOT get busted for drugs multiple times? To Dr. Z's credit, he is starting to realize he should consider Art Monk in his Hall of Fame voting. But, this is only because of a relentless e-mail campaign from Redskins fans. Oh, Dr. Z has also thought of Redskins fans as "nudniks" for years. Anyone who uses the term "nudnik" is a huge douchebag. Props to Hogs Haven and AOL FanHouse for reminding me of this asshole.

Breaking News From The Washington Post: Points Needed to Win Football Games

The Fun Bunch isn't the only media outlet desperate for Redskins news in the early pre-season: The Washington Post just broke a story that said, hold onto your hats, offenses need to score points to win football games. The ever eloquent Mark Brunell added a gem of a quote saying:

"The teams that are winning games are scoring points, and the teams that aren't, aren't winning,"

Goddamn, that is some deep, deep insight from Brunell. Blowing my mind with that shit.

Michael Vick's Career: Commentary By Triumph

I may be a little premature here, but I think Michael Vick's football career is pretty much over. One of his co-defendants,Tony Taylor of Hampton Virginia pleaded guilty, and will now be working for the federal prosecutors. It doesn't look good for Vick, which sucks because I'm from Virginia and used to be a huge Vick fan. He's pretty much screwed at this point. Here are the scenarios he has to face:

1. Plead Guilty: Falcons cut him, some desperate team picks him up. He is jeered and heckled wherever he goes.

2. Go to trial and have all of his dirty laundry aired out while missing an entire season. If he gets acquitted, he should be able to salvage something of a career. I doubt he would take the risk of going to trial.

3. Go to trial, and be convicted. Ouch, hello federal penitentiary.

Lindsay Lohan vs. Michael Vick:Who'll Spend More Time in the Slammer?

I promise this blog won't devolve into a TMZ.com clone but, it's a little slow on the Redskins news front in July... Who is in deeper shit these days, Lindsay "Li-Lo" Lohan or Michael Vick? Lindsay was arrested AGAIN last night for DUI and possession of cocaine. Michael Vick has been indicted on Federal charges related to an alleged dog fighting ring at his house in Smithfield, Virginia. He was also banned from training camp. If I were a betting man, I'd say Li-Lo will spend more time in jail, but Michael Vick is in more shit, just because of the sheer amount of money he stands to lose in contracts and endorsements. Lindsay can probably make enough money off Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen royalties to keep herself nostril-deep in blow for the next 20 years. Does anybody else think that Li-Lo's life will follow the same trajectory as Dana Plato?
